What is IVI, ICI, IUI and IVF


IVI - Intra Vaginal Insemination
This is similar to the tradition sexual intercourse, insemination of the sperm at the mouth of the vaginal, in essence, as the vaginal canal elongates during sexual intercourse, the sperm still get to travel the long distance through to the cervix and into the fallopian tubes. Per adventure, the sperm cells rae slow, they don’t get to reach the promised land and the poor egg is just waiting thinking they lost their way and asking for directions to reach her :frowning:

ICI - Intra Cervical Insemination.
As the name implies, sperm insemination is through the cervix. It differs from IUI with respect to location of insemination and cost of procedure, likewise in terms of success rate.

IUI - Intra Uterine Insemination
Here, the sperm is washed to remove the semen and non-motile swimmers from the sperm and inseminated inside the uterus with a catheter. This has a higher success rate than IVI and ICI. Read more here

This is the most expensive and most invasive of them all with the highest success rate. Read more about it here.
